Post the Kerala floods devastation in 2018, Sterlite Power decided to contribute towards relief and restoration efforts in Kerala. The local administration identified structures that needed rebuilding and restoration in Malappuram district. Sterlite Power engaged with NGO partner SEEDS for restoring the PHC sub-centre in Kanjiraparamba and Government Lower Primary School (GLPS) in Vilayil as they were severely damaged during the 2018 floods. The sub-centre was vital to the community’s medical needs and the government school was a major centre for formal education.

As part of this initiative, group level employee contribution was sought, with a promise to match that contribution towards this initiative. Around 7 lakh was collected from the employees and the company matched that contribution.
