The project transfers power from the atomic power plant near Kota in Rajasthan to Shujalpur in Madhya Pradesh to provide the path for the evacuation of electricity generated at RAPP-7 and 8. The transmission system evacuates and transmits power through a network of about 200 Km long 400 kV Double Circuit line. This line has further strengthened power transfer capability from Northern Grid to Western Grid.

Key Milestones

  • In December 2015, Sterlite Power set a new benchmark by commissioning the Transmission Project, awarded under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, ahead of schedule
  • In March 2014, Sterlite Power acquired special purpose vehicle RAPP Transmssion Company Limited from bid process coordinator
  • In September 2013, Sterlite Power emerged as the successful bidder and was awarded RAPP Transmission Project
