Heli-crane Operations

Construction of transmission projects on hilly terrain traditionally required head loading and use of animals like mules for material movement.

Construction of transmission projects on hilly terrain traditionally required head loading and use of animals like mules for material movement. These tasks are arduous, time taking, quite risky and impact the flora on ground. For NRSS 29 project, with the usage of aerial technologies like heli-cranes and drones, we reimagined traditional methodologies of transmission line construction, leading to minimal environmental impact on ground.
For the first time in India, Sterlite Power deployed an air crane for material movement and tower construction in the mountainous terrains of Jammu & Kashmir.
It has helped Sterlite Power to commission NRSS 29 Transmission Limited ahead of schedule and ensure power for all in Jammu & Kashmir, besides improving the reliability of the grid system.
